The download will be delivered as a compressed (i.e. a ".zip", or ".tar.gz") file. Decompress this file into the directory of your choice (e.g. "c:\eclipse" on Windows) and ensure you have full Read and Execute permissions. You can optionally create a shortcut of the executable file ("eclipse.exe" on Windows, or "eclipse" on Linux).
If you've "installed" Eclipse but are having trouble getting it to run, the most likely cause is that you have not correctly specified the JVM for it to run under. You may need to edit the eclipse.ini file.
Another common mistake on Microsoft Windows is a mismatch between the "bittedness" of Eclipse and the JVM/JDK. This is the most frequent cause of an Error 13. 64-bit Eclipse requires a 64-bit JVM, and 32-bit Eclipse requires 32-bit JVM--you can not mix-and-match between 32-bit and 64-bit, so make sure the version of Eclipse you installed matches the JVM/JDK that you're using to run it (and make sure you're using eclipse.ini to specify the exact JVM used to run Eclipse, described above).
As a simple test, open a Command Prompt window, move to the directory that is pointed to by the -vm argument in your eclipse.ini, and run the intended java.exe with the -d32 switch to test if it supports 32-bit, or -d64 to test for 64-bit support. It's often simplest to download a version of Eclipse that will work with whatever Java you already have installed.

I think you really missed the point. Not the codenames are the problem but the name eclipse for the IDE. In the beginning eclipse was the name of a very good java IDE and everything was good, but then more and more projects which have nothing to do with a java IDE adopt the brand name eclipse. So when you search the web for eclipse you get many hits for other projects under the umbrella of the eclipse foundation which have nothing to do with your java IDE. So i think eclipse needs to find a new name for the IDE so that it is much easier for people to find out if an information the find on the internet is related to their favorite IDE or to another eclipse project.
.If you go to the eclipse.org page, there is not one shred of evidence that eclipse.org is the source of Eclipse Neon or the upcoming Eclipse Oxygen. So the actual home page of the project is not being maintained in a way that helps users learn which release to use.
Abstract. This paper provides the overview of an integrated, multi-disciplinary effort to study the effects of the 29 March 2006 total solar eclipse on the environment, with special focus on the atmosphere. The eclipse has been visible over the Eastern Mediterranean, and on this occasion several research and academic institutes organised co-ordinated experimental campaigns, at different distances from eclipse totality and at various environments in terms of air quality. Detailed results and findings are presented in a number of component scientific papers included in a Special Issue of Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics. The effects of the eclipse on meteorological parameters, though very clear, were shown to be controlled by local factors rather than the eclipse magnitudes, and the turbulence activity near surface was suppressed causing a decrease in the Planetary Boundary Layer. In addition to the above, the decrease in solar radiation has caused change to the photochemistry of the atmosphere, with night time chemistry dominating. The abrupt "switch off" of the sun, induced changes also in the ionosphere (140 up to 220 km) and the stratosphere. In the ionosphere, both photochemistry and dynamics resulted to changes in the reflection heights and the electron concentrations. Among the most important scientific findings from the experiments undertaken has been the experimental proof of eclipse induced thermal fluctuations in the ozone layer (Gravity Waves), due to the supersonic movement of the moon's shadow, for the first time with simultaneous measurements at three altitudes namely the troposphere, the stratosphere and the ionosphere. Within the challenging topics of the experiments has been the investigation of eclipse impacts on ecosystems (field crops and marine plankton). The rare event of a total solar eclipse provided the opportunity to evaluate 1 dimensional (1-D) and three dimensional (3-D) radiative transfer (in the atmosphere and underwater), mesoscale meteorological, regional air quality and photochemical box models, against measurements.
General announcements during the Oxygen Update 3 (4.7.3) endgame are posted to the platform-...@eclipse.org developer mailing list. Anyone participating in the endgame should be subscribed to this list, and should direct any general questions and comments about the process there as well.
No API changes are expected during a update release. Any exception must beapproved by the PMC. No changes are to be released without prior approvaland associated bug report. Please send the request for approval to the eclipse-pmcmailing list. If a change is made to API to make it binary compatible witha previous release, technically this is still an API change, and thus it should be treatedin the same way as any other API change requests.
Release candidate 4, if required, to fix problems detected during the test pass. We expect NO CHANGE at this point. If you find a show stopper, please notify ASAP the eclip...@eclipse.org mailing list. All fixes submitted to RC4 must have a PMC vote on the bug report and be reviewed by an additional committer (any committer other than the one who made the fix).
According to Lee Nackman, Chief Technology Officer of IBM's Rational division (originating in 2003) at that time, the name "Eclipse" (dating from at least 2001) was not a wordplay on Sun Microsystems, as the product's primary competition at the time of naming was Microsoft Visual Studio, which Eclipse was to eclipse.[21]
The autoSAT technology is especially helpful for detecting differences in your breathing. No adjustment is necessary, as the autoSAT automatically controls the amount of oxygen you receive. If the unit does not detect a breath in pulse dose mode, the autoSAT technology will switch the Eclipse 5 into continuous flow mode until a breath is detected. The Eclipse 5 concentrator also provides an average oxygen purity of 90 percent.

The last flight I took was over three years ago. I simply had to give up flying. It's such a shame because as a retired airline employee I enjoy flight benefits and can fly for free. So what stops me? The number of batteries I need to lug around and the total weight involved. Airlines require that you have enough oxygen for 150% of the published flight time. And, because of security, you need to be at the airport at least an hour before flight time. Also, I need to have a wheelchair and especially at smaller airports, they may not be readily available. My last few flights were out of Memphis, where you have to park in the lot and then call for someone to bring you a wheelchair. There are no telephones in the parking lot. If you have a cell phone, you can call, but I've waited up to 45 mins. before a chair arrived. Before I had a cell phone, I had to ask police or total strangers to request a chair. But the simple fact is that you have to lug around so much heavy and bulky equipment. It's worth noting that not too many years ago, airlines would supply oxygen tanks on request with advance notice. The charge for this service was $100 per segment. But they stopped doing this. For this reason, international travel is out of the question under any circumstances. I shudder at the thought of even calculating how many batteries I might need to go to London (as an example). By the way, for those not in the know, you are not allowed to use liquid oxygen or compressed oxygen tanks aboard aircraft, only portable oxygen concentrators. Bon voyage.
Dear Jim,
I totally know what you mean! I flew with an Inogen G2 (pulse up to 6 lpm) for 2 years, and it was quite a production. I didn't know they used to provide oxygen on a plane. Boy, what a difference that would mean for all of us. What a shame you are unable to fly with the benefit of being able to fly free. So sorry. Thanks so much for sharing your input on this important topic.
Oh Jack, I'm so sorry. That sounds SO HARD. I get so angry at some of these providers for making it so hard for us to get the oxygen we need. Please make sure those tanks are strapped in upright. I so wish you didn't have to go through this.
Glad to hear you were able to make the trip to see your dad.
We have a family cruise planned for May and since my oxygen is 2-3 ltr sitting but 8-10 upon exertion, I cannot fly because my REspironics Simply Go batteries would only last 45 minutes each and they are expensive and I only have 3.
For the cruise, I will be renting a scooter so I can be on 2 ltr oxygen sitting but I will also have to rent a SeQual Eclipse 5 that has batteries that last 2 hours continuous and get at least 4 or 5 batteries. It gets expensive but I at least want to make this trip. I am on the lung transplant waitlist but you have to keep living.
I enjoyed reading everyone's stories.
