If you are an Android user and want to add Acapela TTS voices to your device, you can buy our voices through the Acapela TTS Voices application on Google Play. Check our Gallery in order to find apps that are compatible with our voices from Google Play or that have our voices inbuilt. The product described on this page is a Software Development Kit for developers and not for end users.
Unfortunately this did not work in the Android version of Avaz since Acapela is not included as a Speech Engine option in the Settings in that app. The company has indicated that they are working on adding child voices back to the Android version of the app *** Update: The 10/4/22 update for the Android version of Avaz AAC added access to the Acapela voices. See this blog post for details: -version-of-avaz-aac-now-has-access-to-acapela-voices-this-gives-us-child-voice-options-again/
I am happy with what we've got right now. But if they gave me an option to choose between acapela and another text to speech engine, I would go for Ivona TTS. At least, in my opinion, Ivona does a better job than Acapela. Acapela has many more voices, but Ivona sounds much better.
Once again, I just want to say that I am very happy with what we've got right now. If there are new voices coming for iOS, I'll be even happier.
The Scottish voices cannot be installed into the iPad itself and have to be integrated into each app by the developer. Grid for iPad has the Scottish accent voices from CereProc and some other apps offer the adult female voices from Acapela or Nuance. If you want a male or child voice, options are limited.
If you want to have more Scottish voices in your favourite app, contact the developer and ask them to integrate the voices you need into their apps or contact us and we'll approach them. ClaroCom may have more Scottish voices soon because the developers Claro already offer Andrew and Mairi in their Claro ScanPen app: if you'd like the Scottish voices in ClaroCom, why not get in touch with Claro and ask?
We're excited to announce the addition of a new speech-generating voice for use in the CoughDrop app! Individuals with speech or communication issues can use [CoughDrop]( =blog" target="_blank) to select words or build sentences that the app will speak for them, and CoughDrop users can already use the large library of Acapela voices in our Android, iOS and Amazon apps. But that just didn't seem good enough to us. Something was missing.
Users that just want to use the app with existing text-to-speech voices without creating one for themselves can use any of the available apps. This includes those available on smartphones, PCs, tablets, and anything else.
