Maybe we should do another "It's cool to walk to school" bike/walk day around then, if it doesn't happen around Earth Day (April 22nd). May is the 53rd anniversary of National Bike Month.

Here is the info from the SF Bike Coalition newsletter:

Calling All Parents + Teachers: SF's First Bike To School Day is May 28th

May 28, 2009 will be San Francisco's first Bike to School Day--just 2 weeks after Bike to Work Day--and we need your help. We'll be promoting Bike to School Day to students with the help of parents and teachers. You can also help by leading a 'Commuter Convoy', a group ride from a neighborhood meeting point to the school and back at the end of the day, fun bike activities during the day, and much more. Bike to School Day is organized in partnership with the SFUSD, SF Department of Public Health, SF Municipal Transportation Agency, SFBC, Shape Up! SF and the YMCA Presidio Bike Program. If you are a parent or School staff, please sign up today and let us know how you want to help .

A contest for students to design the promotional poster, closes this Friday. If your child wants to design a poster, find out more here.
