AnHBS file is a template file created by Handlebars, a web template system. It contains a template written in HTML code and embedded with Handlebars expressions. An HBS file performs the same function as a .HANDLEBARS file.

By applying input code to HBS templates, Handlebars users can efficiently generate HTML code for use in their development projects. The Ember web app development framework also makes use of HBS templates.

You can open and view an HBS file using any text editor. However, if you intend to edit the file, you should open the file using a source code editor, such as NotePad++ or Atom. These applications provide helpful source code editing tools and highlight the file's syntax correctly.

An HBS file may also be a set list created by Line 6 POD HD Edit, a DAW application that enables you to edit instrument sounds. It contains up to 64 presets that change the settings for "FX," "AMPS," "Mixer," and "Controllers," which customize the sound of your instrument. Once loaded, an HBS file will replace the currently loaded Set list within the application.

An HBS file may also be a text file used by Haxball, an online physics-based multiplayer soccer game. It contains text in JSON5 format that describes a stadium, which includes how the camera views gameplay, team spawning points, player and ball physics, how objects collide, and the stadium background appearance. HBS files are typically used to upload and share stadiums that other Haxball players can play in.

You can open HBS files with any text editor since the file stores JSON-formatted text. There are also several programs available that have been developed by players in the Haxball community that allow you to easily modify HBS files. However, the popular HaxPuck editor is not currently available.

The FileInfo.com team has independently researched all file formats and software programs listed on this page. Our goal is 100% accuracy and we only publish information about file types that we have verified.

? Initially, the common .HBS format area serves for storing and sustaining template items generated by Handlebars, a solid multi-platform web-template environment. As a rule, all of the .HBS instances are composed of a template written in .HTML code and integrated into various Handlebars expressions. Thus, the accustomed .HBS data element accomplishes the same abilities and tasks as a certain .HANDLEBARS object node. Handlebars .HBS item can be described as a common jаvascript library that assists developers in composing and writing cleaner code. In general, the plain Handlebars template involves a sequential combination of Handlebars expressions that are represented in the following make-up: inputobject. By applying the input code to respective HBS templates, Handlebars users are able to efficiently and productively write and construct diverse HTML code blocks for further usage in their active development initiatives. Accurately, the Ember web app development framework also makes service of .HBS templates. In order to embed an .HBS sample into your browser, you are suggested to built it into a corresponding script tag, as represented further:

It should be miscellaneously specified that the .HBS tagged extension marker was superseded by .H5S format label when subsequent POD HD500 Edit edition was released and introduced to the public audience.

? At last, one more common case of the .HBS tech definition that certainly should be mentioned is a text resource utilized and opened by Haxball, an online physics-based game in the multiplayer soccer genre. Precisely, the current .HBS build-up grasps text in JSON5 shape that properly describes an in-game stadium. In detail, the following .HBS logic defines the overall stadium background appearance, how proper objects collide, ball and player physics, team spawning points, and how exactly the camera views gameplay. As a matter of fact, the .HBS format elements normally serve for sharing and uploading stadiums that other Haxball players can play in. Indeed, you can review, track, and examine the .HBS file layout with a simple, plain text editor since the file stores JSON-formatted text elements and blocks. There is also a considerable range of alternate program tools available on the software market that have been designed by players related to the Haxball fanbase community that enable you to strictly modify and alter .HBS data items without any cornerstones or barriers. Nevertheless, the formerly widely spread HaxPuck utility is not available for official download nowadays. When users have completed the adjustment of the stadium configuration assets stored in an .HBS module, they are getting used to uploading the newly designed .HBS map to the Community page available on the genuine Haxball online portal. After this iteration is accomplished, other users are getting a chance to play soccer matches on that stadium map.

? An overwhelming majority of the .HBS data items can be effortlessly and seamlessly reviewed, monitored, and opened by Handlebars, GitHub Atom, Notepad++, Apple Xcode, or any other contemporary text editor, runnable on desktop device on the basis of any up-to-date architecture or platform. Instead, in appropriate circumstances it may be required to pre-install .HBS tech compatible Line 6 POD HD500X Edit bundle, supported by Windows and macOS operating environments. Some pinpoint .HBS elements are also available for tracking and handling with the involvement of Haxball web-service, operating in scope of any web-browser, either natively available or pre-installed from the external repository or server storage.

HaxBall is a top-down online multiplayer game played between two teams. It is played on fields of various types with a goal on two sides. Each player is represented by a circle that can be moved around to push a white object that moves like a ball or a puck into the opposing goal by guiding it into the right direction. Players can also hinder each other by blocking the way. Next to the four arrow keys for movement an additional key is used to kick the object when it is close enough, based on the position of the object relative to the player. This movement can be combined into teamwork to pass the ball and get past opponents to score.

Players assemble in a central lobby where games can be created or joined. The hosting players can choose the type of stadium and the rules such as a time or score limit. Before starting a game players choose a side but it is also possible to join mid-game. Teams do not necessarily need to have equal numbers. Next to the regular game mechanics there are servers where movement is changed, for instance to carry more momentum, or where the object bounces off the walls as in a game of ice-hockey. Custom maps can be used and these are created through an unofficial editor. There is a chat window at the bottom of the screen during matches to talk to other players. Through the logo the game appears to suggest it resembles a game of football (soccer).

It has been a while since the last update and for that I apologize. Some of you might have heard that I was working on a dedicated server for HaxBall, this was an Adobe Air version which would let you host rooms without the overhead of graphics, sounds and running on a browser. Unfortunately the performance during testing was a bit underwhelming so this project has been postponed for now.

Today I bring to you a new and exciting feature: The HaxBall Stadium Format (.hbs). This is a text format which allows you to create any kind of stadium! From boring things like just changing the size of the goal to crazy shaped stadiums with multiple goal areas and obstacles.

The .hbs files are plain text so you can edit them with any text editor.

Here are two sample stadiums:
