I'd like to report some progress in creating a dynamic query (Investment income in period) in gnucash_portfolio. Now might be a good time to compare to what Sebastien has done in the gnucash_utilities project.

I'm seriously thinking of rewriting some portions of GnuCash as a web interface. It is just so much faster to work through piecash than using the GnuCash binary on Windows. Plus, Python allows me to easily debug and modify functionality on the fly. Speak of having a cake and eating it, too!

Hello Alen

Fyi, on GitHub, there are some projects of web app for gnucash (see alsohttp://piecash.readthedocs.io/en/latest/doc/github_links.html)

On gnucash_utilities, there is not a lot to compare as there is not much ;-)

Curious to see what web app you can do !

Wow! I'm sure there will be something useful in there.

I'm replicating the functionality I got used to in Quicken (reports/views) as well as creating some custom stuff that I could not find elsewhere (like asset allocation).
So far I only have one item left on my to-do list for exploration: charts. Once I learn more about pandas and how to utilize them, the toolkit will cover more or less all I need so far.

A few operations have been implemented as scripts but now I would provide web interface to them, like price import and display (together with charts). For example, security analysis.

As usual, you've given me plenty of things to sift through in the near future with that list of python projects! :)
