to PiDP-8
I have been trying to get a good blinkenlights program running on my
PiDP-8/i and have run into a no-luck outcome so far.

Thanks to a couple pointers to Github I've found some stuff, but no
loaders or installs, which work  under the situation I have set  up.

Attempts to compile the .c has lead to errors which I'm not able to fix
yet.  Stuff just isn't there despite having the two libraries Oscar
provided in the working directory, etc.

One of the things I've read, however, is that the C code runs with so
much less overhead than the SimH version.  I had installed all the load
for the 8 per the instructions from the assembling of the kit, and
cannot find any version of Deep Thought or equivalent in the download,
so I'm not sure where the SimH version that was referred to is located.

Is there some setting of the panel switches at reboot which will bring
up a version for demo purposes, sort of like booting the -11 or -10 and
having a selected program load initially?

I'm hoping to get one of the more modern, stable, versions of Deep (er)
Thought(s) to run eventually but would like to have a nice display
running to intrigue visitors to the computer center.

Thanks for any thoughts or pointers.  Dale

to PiDP-8
A few years ago I posted my assembly code to this forum for a blinkenlights program in assembly for the PiDP-8.  You can find that thread here:  https://groups.google.com/g/pidp-8/c/YmXtoJ8xQN0/m/-U-prhh7BAAJ

It allows for lights running left, running right, thin, wide, back and forth, as well as random.

Best,
-Mark
