Space War using JUST the internal Pi

I may be missing an existing "how-to" but can someone direct/instruct me on how to run Space War using the PiDP-8's own Pi with no other external laptop etc?

My system is currently setup to run the OS/8 system CLI directly to the Pi's HDMI port. Would another monitor be required to be connected via the AV out of the Pi to emulate the vector display?

My Pi2 has HDMI and AV output (I have the required leads etc).

I have the IF switches set to Octal 4 and so Space War is running. But what else do I need to do to enable the VC8 vector display emulation on my local HDMI?
