Sorry for opening a conversation about an out of scope topic... but there's no PiDP-1 group (yet?) and Oscar used this... or was it the PiDP-11 group, to talk about the PiDP-10 ;)

So... is there a target cost for the kit? Whats with the tape reader on the top of https://obsolescence.dev/pidp1.html?

Huh.  Now that would be a fascinating build.. esp if someone can scrounge up a pcb layout for building it from transistors.

Update on what I've found so far:

• The above link has been updated with some info about the completed prototypes; the full and "hacker" version. Sadly no paper tape reader ;)
• I also found a Hackaday.io project @ https://hackaday.io/project/202541-replica-of-the-pdp-1-pidp-1 with more information on the kits and an interesting log.
• So far, no sign of a pidp-1 google group.

Here's what I've found so far...

• https://obsolescence.dev/pidp1.html has been updated with more information about the "full" and "hacker edition" prototypes. Sadly no paper tape reader ;)
• I found a project page for the PiPD-1 project on hackaday.io; https://hackaday.io/project/202541-replica-of-the-pdp-1-pidp-1
• Still no pidp-1 google group (that I can find).

Here's what worked for me

Join a new group

1. Go to Google Groups... https://groups.google.com/my-groups
2. Click All groups and find the group that you want to join. - this case PiDP1
3. Click Join group. ...
4. If you want to link or unlink your Google profile, choose an option: ...
5. In the Subscription section, choose how often you want email updates from the group: ...
6. Click Join group.
