Hey folks, so I've been running RSTS/E beautifully non-stop for months but I stupidly yanked the power and now I am getting a Segmentation Fault just after the RSTS lights start segmentation fault.jpggoing nicely....  Wondering, is this a lost cause? Rebuild needed... or some amazingly simple  fix that I can do?

See pic (apologies for quality)

cheers!
Andy

I did a restore of a 'known good' SD card running RSTS/E from December. Same problem... Segmentation Fault.

Any thoughts?  Raspberry Pi (3b+) problem perhaps?

I have no real clue what your problem is, but the segmentation fault
don't really have anything to do with RSTS/E per se.

Looks like some problem with client11, which is a part of running the
PiDP-11 front panel.

But it's a bit hard to tell if it really is client11, or some other bit,
from that picture of your screen. But it is a segmentation fault out in
the Linux environment. Nothing at all to do with the internal side of
the PDP-11 as such.

Thanks Johnny. Segmentation Faults do crop up from time to time in some of the messages on the VAX SIMH forums out there, however late last night I cut my losses and rebuilt from scratch.... all good now :-)

My guess would be that the guest filesystem corruption in the .DSK file caused some disk-image auto-detection logic in SimH to fail fatally... Since it's unlikely a Linux fs corruption problem -- that would have been taken care of by fsck, if at all needed, at the first reboot followed by the power loss...
