I think 3D printing is the answer to a lot of these mounting problems. Sure, something with a flange mount would be excellent and maybe something is out there but I sure didn't see it right off. The fact that the adapter I used is a press fit into the DB25 opening (after filing the rough spots) is good enough for now. There is about a 1/8" opening on both ends (plus the screw slots) but I can live with that. After all, it's on the back of the cabinet - out of sight, out of mind.
I guess a clever designer would just replace the entire 'box' of the existing adapter with a new shell, keeping the ratchet mechanism. That's a little above my pay grade.
