Saw this...

Not sure if it's big enough for the PDP2011 to run on, but it has a
Raspberry Pi header on it, so if it does, it should be possible to plug
it directly into a PiDP-11...

Looks like it should be possible - the fpga isn't very big, but assuming the luts are equally capable as the ones in a cyclone-iv, it's about comparable to a de0nano. And the winbond sdram should work without any issues, I'd think.

Hooking it up directly to the pidp, sure - if all the right pins are i/o, why not. Not sure about the video (what is GDPI? wikipedia say's it's the pentecostal church in Indonesia?) or about serial i/o for the console. But most likely no issue.

That's the good news, the bad news ism I already have a table full of fpga boards and no room (or money!) for yet another. But if you or anyone else wants to try to port, I'll help where I can. I'm not sure how difficult it would be, the last time I worked with Lattice stuff is about thirty years ago. Yay, my first cpld board. Still have it somewhere.

GDPI is what people who haven't paid the special license fee have to
call their HDMI port.

But you think it should be possible?

From what I see, yes.
