Following is a copy of the message that Oscar sent out when he changed the kits to use the new, thinner, matte finish front panels.

Subject: Tindie orders: PiDP-11 kits of July 5th batch are on their way
Hi,
Just to confirm that I sent out all PiDP-11 kits for this batch. They are on their way with a track & trace code you can find on Tindie.com's order page.
Some important things:
- In newer PiDP-11 kits the acrylic front panel is thinner, 2mm rather than the old 4mm. It's not a cost cut - rather the opposite. But: you need to put an extra nut on the 5 brass spacers to make up for the 2mm. Some people don't read my Building Instructions and just follow the 2019 Youtube video from Beige-O-Vision. But this crucial step is not in the movie. Do not forget it. Otherwise, the spacer is too long and can damage the case. In a picture: make sure you do this, or you risk damaging the case:

Other than that...
- If you are in the US, the parcel is a sign-for-delivery parcel. Elsewhere, mostly, the parcel is simply delivered and a signature is not necessary.
- If the postman does not find you at home, he might leave a note to pick up the parcel at the post office. Or you can arrange for a new delivery time online. Sometimes, people don't find that scrap of paper and the kit lingers at the post office. But if you do not pick it up soon, it'll be sent back to me...
Therefore: IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE PARCEL within the next 2.5 weeks, CONTACT ME BY EMAIL.
We can check and see if it waits for you at the post office. - Don't worry about getting the kit working. I can always send you replacement parts if your soldering goes horribly wrong :)
- Check the web site's Building Instructions page: http://obsolescence.wixsite.com/obsolescence/pidp-11-building-instructions
- You can already prepare your Pi by (1) installing normal Raspbian on an SD card, and then (2) install the PiDP code following the steps in the manual (link).
- A lot of action happens in the PiDP-11 and PiDP-8 Google Groups, so be sure to have a look there.
And, any questions or problems during the build process, do let me know!
Kind regards,
Oscar.
