FYI .. a number of messages from this group are getting flagged as spam. I have to regularly go to my spam folder and mark several as 'not spam'.

However - some messages are getting a very different treatment. They are marked with a red highlighted label ... "This message seems dangerous - It contains a suspicious link that was used to steal people's personal information. Avoid clicking links or replying with personal information." And - this is not really a warning or a caution. These messages cannot be marked 'no spam' - no such option is available.

Now - I did not see any links other than google groups links. I have not had time to explore from my computer to look at headers - but that is an odd place to put links if users are to see them.

What I did notice was this happening to users (more than one) with ComCast addresses. I have no idea why, but this is a pattern.

I am not sure how much of a problem this is for others, but it is definitely interfering with the easy flow of group discussions on my end.

... Chris

Ditto. I’ve seen the same thing.

Since you appear to be using gmail, you can whitelist messages, which means they won't go to spam.

To do that, connect to gmail on your browser. Then click the gear icon in the upper right, and just below that icon you should then see a "See all settings" button. Click that, and you will get several tabs under "Settings". Click on "Filters and Blocked Addresses", then click "Create a new filter".

Set the "From" field to pid...@googlegroups.com and leave everything else blank. Now click "Create filter". A new window will pop up, and you would click "Never send to Spam". Finally, click "Create filter".

I don't know if that will affect the "This message seems dangerous" alerts, but it should prevent messages going to the spam folder.

Google Groups had a lot of trouble with spam posts a few months ago (I weeded out dozens of them). It's why I have this annoying 'request to join the google group' feature switched on - if not, the group gets flooded with "pharmaceutical offers" etc...

In response, Google seems to have gone Full Paranoia. I have to manually allow a few posts every day because they're flagged.

But it is an overzealous response on the side of Google.

Kind regards,

Oscar.
