Hi,

I am considering getting the PiDP-10 kit.  I would like to experiment with bisync communication with it.  When I was a young engineer at Computer Technology Ltd (when dinosaurs roamed the earth), our Modular One systems and PM8x systems networked together and with mainframes using IBM2780 and 7020 HASP protocols.  It would be good fun to get Oscar's rebuilds communicating that way with an Arpanet predecessor.

I was thinking of using RS232 level converters to a pure serial clocked TX/RX interface, together with PYSerial.  Also to employn the BiSync project in SourceForge.

I was wondering whether any of you have any advice on integration with SIMH ?  Any ideas would be useful.

Thanks, good luck with all your projects

John Wilson (dbit) makes a very nice async or USB (on the host/Pi side) to sync converter, powered by (IIRC) a PIC. I think it takes special async commands to set up the sync side for different modes. I don't know if those are documented (he did it as an add-on board for his Ersatz-11 emulator). Couldn't hurt to ask...492955932_10237846648567082_9037433087676900067_n.jpg
