The linux scheduler on some systems reportedly cause a pause in the panel updates every semi-random few seconds. This is directly caused by the linux scheduler. I don't see it, some do.
The quick fix, add this line to /opt/pidp1-mods/pidp1.config:

panelrealtime=yes

This is the old realtime fix panel_pidp1 used, but it used it to hide a simulation flaw. This fix handles a different issue and uses a slightly different thread priority setting, but the result is the same, the scheduler won't screw up the display. In theory.
