The brightness setting really wasn't correct. It was a scaling factor applied to all brightness levels, but that wasn't what was actually needed. It is now a brightness cap to limit the maximum brightness. If you are using the new panel and you have set a brightness in the pidp1.config file, it is now an integer value 0-100, NOT the old float 0.0-1.0, be sure you change it!
The UsingNewpanel.md document has also been updated.
