Is there any way to get the paper tape reader without the type 30 display?

For those of us using a separate monitor for the type 30, it can't be started independently as long as pdp1_periphES is running because the port is in use. But, without pdp1_periphES running, can't load tapes via the tape picker. It lets you pick, but readin doesn't see it.

Or, am I missing something? If not, it would be very useful to be able to tell periphES to not open its display emulation.

Good point! pdp1_periph will also get support for a second screen in the next few days (that's the plan anyway). so that means we really want to have 0-2 displays.
