to PiDP-1
Hello,
The remaining parts of my rack kit have moved me to build another PIDP1 with the case and the white front panel. I ordered the PCB for the Lights and Switches (the kicad-project-files are on the debug-website) from JLCPCB, in Blue of course 😉

i had some flat yellow LEDs from my own PDP1-Replica-Prototyping and some switches here, on the pcb is nothing special expect the standoffs for the LEDs and the ottopanel. so i decided to build the pidp1 without these things. It was very fiddling to place the switches and LEDs in the right place 😅 First i soldered the Diodes and the Switches, i used a lot of adhesive Tape to fit the Switches in the right place.

To get a narrow protrusion of the LEDs, I came up with something. i add Standoffs plus a thin washer with double sided adhesive tape between the PCB and the Frontpanel, put one row of LEDs on the PCB, tape the PCB and the Frrontpanel with the Standoffs together an then add adhesive tape over the LED-Holes. Then i press slidly against the Pins of the LEDs that they glue on the adhesive Tape - then i soldered the LEDs. after all LEDs soldered, i remove the standoffs and washers that the frontpanel lays on the switches.

The Switch for Tapefeed is missing, once if i have a spare Switch i solder them in ...

In Summary: you can do this, but its much more work then build the original Kit 😅
