Monster Life is a farm system in MapleStory where players can adopt, take care and play with monsters which may be harmful outside but are relatively harmless inside. Monsters will also provide some stat boosts that will be applied throughout the account, across worlds too. Only 1 monster farm can exist per account and it is shared across all worlds.
As you perform quests and taking care of monsters, you gain farm EXP, and it increases your farm level if gained sufficiently. Excess farm EXP is erased if farm level increases. To reduce wastage, only level up the farm using taking care, and performing quests when the farm EXP is low enough to not level up after the quest is finished.
As the farm have no monsters at the beginning, the first life always come from monster boxes. The shop sells C Grade Monster Box for 1,000 waru each, and it can be opened for a random regular C grade monster.
For tutorial, a C grade monster box and a genesis house will be provided for free to start the farm. Genesis house is placed in your farm to earn waru (like other houses in the shop), and the C grade monster box is used to create your first monster.
Otherwise, monsters can be obtained mostly from combination, available if your monster is at least level 3. Special monsters can be obtained from either special monster boxes or special formula combination depending on the monster itself.
Monsters have an expiry of 30 days 60 days. Once the expiry is reached, the monster will still remain in the farm but no further actions can be taken towards the monster except extend life (non-SS rank only) or dismiss to get waru based on monster level.
Remove the monster from your farm and let it out into Maple World in a random world, channel and map. In that map, players can kill the monster to receive an invitation in Use inventory to visit your farm to obtain a considerable amount of waru based on rank. Invitation will be removed if unused after logging off the game. You will get a small amount of waru if this happens, given upon entering your farm. Monsters can no longer be found in the wild in Maple World.
Visit other farms to combine your monster (minimum monster level 3) with those in other farms (minimum monster level 1) by consuming warus based on the higher rank among the 2 monsters. Each monster in other farms can be used by you once daily, and a particular monster can be used by everyone 15 times daily. You can use 2 gems to bypass the limit 1 time across all monsters in the farm, and it only applies to you. You will get a new monster among the possible results (chance stated are estimated):
If it is a special formula, either the stated result is given, or a non-special monster is given based on the monster you used. If your own monster is of SS rank and non-special, it has a high chance of returning an SS rank if the result inherits your own monster. Results shown assumes that the formula has failed:
SS rank monsters and special type monsters cannot be used unless it is part of a special formula, and can only be used to combine with the formula. Expired monsters and those from incubators cannot be used for any combinations, even if it is part of a special formula.
Depending on the monster type, you will gain stats that applies to the entire account in all worlds. Stats of the same type for regular monsters (same monster for special monsters) will not be stacked. Where duplicates of the same regular type of monsters exist, the higher effect will be used.
Special Monsters can be obtained from either boxes inside the special shop (appears randomly based on server time), or special combinations. Some monster boxes can also be found in normal shops ("Very Good Box" costs 8 gems and "Luminous Box" costs 600,000 waru before discounts). Special type monsters can stack with everything else so long as they are different monsters.(A monster is different so long as its actual name is different, even if it is just another variant of the same monster, example: Beryl and Reinforced Beryl will be considered as different)
Houses, roads and decorations will make your farm more aesthetically pleasing (even though it is'nt sometimes). Decorations increases beauty points by up to a large amount, roads connected to the main house would improve the beauty points from the decoratives, and houses add beauty points by up to a small amount.
Clicking individual objects would show the road network bonus applied in brackets. Mousing over the total waru shows the total network bonus gained (waru generation every 10 minutes), and mousing over the beauty points shows the total beauty points increased by roads.
There are various achievements available, and clearing them awards farm achievement points. The top 3 will be ranked and they can be viewed from the ranking function. (However, if the top 3 have obtained the absolute maximum then there is no way to dethrone them)
The shop sells houses, decoratives, backgrounds, monster boxes and monster slots for waru or gems. Items bought with waru can be sold back by right clicking them, for 10% of the original price. Items bought with gems cannot be sold back, and they cannot be converted to warus.
Occasionally, a special shop may appear (at the left side of the screen at your farm, the shop icon will appear), and a Special Shop tab will appear. It sells 6 items that will either cost lots of waru instead of gems (including 1 gem for 100,000 waru), items that are not found in the normal shop (cost lots of waru), or a discounted version of a normal shop item sold for waru. Special shop quantity is limited to 1 per item, and is subjected to discount just like normal waru shop items.
You can view existing active monsters in your farm, as well as the entire catalog of monsters in Monster Life. Lighted up monsters in the catalog are monsters that you have already obtained before. Feel free to complete the collection if you can and want to (there are achievements for it too).
When you enter the farm (except 12am to 12.30am server time) it will show you the previous day's statistics for visitor count, play count from visitors and combination count from visitors. There is a daily gift button at the top right, clickable once daily, to get a daily gift box. It contain 1 of the below at random (in increasing rarity level):
The red house in every farm serves as a guestbook, and visitors or the owner can write a message on it (there are achievements for writing in other farms many times). It logs all activities in the farm, though the log is very limited. Activities logged are: Play, Combine, Added Friend. As such, since the log is limited, you can leave a message to hint the farm owner that you appeared (and hopefully the owner visits your farm back), or just general chat.
It can be accessed from your buddy list, featured farm icon (1st icon from left at the bottom). Everyday, the NPC Farm shown will be different, and each NPC has a set of monsters containing different graded monsters (however, it definitely has no special monsters). There are additional limitations for NPC Farms compared to normal farms.
I've read as of December 2020, according to an announcement from one of the private servers available in the game, most private servers were taken down by KOG Studios due to legal requests from their company, thus these private servers have suspended their service in an indefinite time.
The Private Servers article has now been deleted and is replaced with Tia's article at the Featured Article section. Since these private servers have suspended their service, I've decided Grand Chase Wiki would not endorse them at the moment until we hear anymore news from those said private servers. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
FANDOM has announced something that all FANDOM wikis will be migrated to a new software. However, this new migration software has caused some articles to look broken, unreadable, and unorganized, as some codes for articles don't work anymore, much to our dismay. Me and our admins User: AugustHunt and User: Shiningclaw, will do our best to fix this situation and try to figure/adjust to this new platform. We apologize for the inconvenience.
While I did create a Sandbox page for some characters' information, I advice everyone to not add or change the information of each characters' height, blood type, or birthdays at the moment. The sandbox I made is still incomplete and some information for other characters is yet to be found and translated. The Bond System is not yet released in any English-based servers in the meantime. All new information about each Dimensional Chaser characters will go undo or rollout. I will inform people that they can add information about characters when Bond System finally comes.
Hello Grand Chase Wiki, I'm Thatawesomecat, your Wiki Manager here! I'll be acting as a liaison between you and Fandom Staff. For any questions or issues related to editing here, please feel free to reach out to me!
Two server merges for Grand Chase Dimensional Chaser (Philippines, Japan, and SE Asia/North America, Latin America, and Europe) have been implemented and first ones (PH, JP, and SEA) have now been given an option to change their voice settings in Japanese, Portuguese, and English. But I've just noticed that voice actors for the English voice have still not been credited in-game.
It's come to my conclusion that contribution from anonymous FANDOM users from the Wiki is now disabled as of today, since I've been noticing some anonymous users are trying to vandalize the Wiki, and even try to come back despite being banned.
For now on, all users are now required to create their own FANDOM accounts, if they want to contribute in this Wiki and/or leave comments in some articles. Previous article comments left by anonymous FANDOM users may probably still be intact.
I've been alerted by my co-admin AugustHunt that an anonymous user made an article in Wiki titled "Abuse and lifetime blocking of the site - grandchase.fandom.com". The article contains a threat that they would "block our domain" and even try to defame or sue us, in exchange for cryptocurrency (such as Bitcoin).
