I'm running Ubuntu Linux 9.04 and I'm having trouble compiling the
package. I got this far:

brad@rockstar:~/Desktop/pidgin-musictracker$ ./configure.ac
./configure.ac: line 11: syntax error near unexpected token `
[MusicTracker],'
./configure.ac: line 11: `AC_INIT([MusicTracker],'

Does this mean there's a problem with the script? I also downloaded
another package containing only a musictracker.so file. If I used this
instead how would I do it?

Thanks,
Brad

You are not supposed to invoke configure.ac

'./configure && make && sudo make install' should suffice to build and install
pidgin-musictracker

If you are not quite sure what you are doing, you are probably better off
installing pidgin-musictracker using synaptic or downloading it from
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/pidgin-musictracker.

http://code.google.com/p/pidgin-musictracker/wiki/FAQ#11 should explain what
to do with the plugins .so file.
