The documentation should be updated to show the dependencies for the
current release.
In addition to the gvim dependency that is always needed (bug #124243),
it also requires these or pida won't start:
BicycleRepairman
gnome-python
And this is optional but not listed in the documentation:
gnome-python-extras
I realize you have a fix for gvim in subversion, (and maybe
BicycleRepairman) but it'd be helpful to distributions trying to add
your package to know what is needed for the current release.
Thanks

Documentation needs dependency update

You received this bug notification because you are a member of PIDA,
which is the bug contact for PIDA.
As you rightly say, the BRM dependency will be gone by 0.5.1. But it is
a plugin dependency, not a core dependency (even for 0.5.0).
Gnome-python is not required for PIDA. I understand perhaps the gconf2
bindings for Python may be packaged there in Gentoo, but not in other
distributions. Mine calls them python-gconf2. Anyway, it is these
bindings that are required, so I shall add them to the dependencies.
