Hi folks,

After a long hiatus, I've started hacking on phraymd again. I don't
expect to be able to devote a great deal of time to phraymd, but
hopefully at least a few hours a week. This past week I added a few
new features and made a sequence of releases to my ubuntu PPA. The
lastest version is 0.3a9 based on revision 476 of lp:phraymd.

What's new?
1/ Zooming and panning in the image viewer.
2/ OSD display of image information in the image viewer.
3/ OSD display elements in the image viewer can now be show or hidden
depending on the mouse position.
4/ Some changes to the backend architecture, which should allow me to
develop some exciting new features in the future, such as browsing and
managing web-based collections in phraymd as if they were local.
5/ Improved keyboard navigation (documentation to follow)

As usual, download instructions are available at

https://launchpad.net/phraymd

Comments on the new features are most welcome as are bug reports and
enhancement requests!

Cheers,
dm

PS: Thanks to Stuart for some encouraging e-mail correspondence.

I forgot to add: If anyone is able to test the PPA on newer versions
of Ubuntu (Maverick or Natty) I would appreciate the feedback.

There appears to be a problem with the 4 bit version - Error 404.

It's likely both 32 and 64 bit versions are broken on both Maverick
and Natty. I tried using Launchpad's package copy feature to copy the
Maverick and Natty packages from the Lucid packages, but not entirely
sure under what conditions it works correctly. I won't be upgrading
for a little bit, so won't get a chance to properly diagnose for a
while.

I experienced the problem when I tried the PPA upgrade on a Lucid system (Ubuntu 10:04).

I currently run a 32 Bit Laptop system and a 64 Bit Deskside system, both 10:04 Lucid.

The 32 Bit version of phraymd has been upgraded successfully but the 64 Bit generated the 404 error.

I can overcome this by using the dev version (via bzr), but other people will presumably have a problem, unless there is something happening particular to my system.

Hmm... not sure what's causing that, because it works fine on my 64
bit system (Lucid)

Have you tried sudo apt-get update? If that doesn't fix the problem try:

1/ "sudo apt-get install phraymd" from the command line and report the output?
2/ Show the relevant entries in /etc/apt/sources.list
