Hi folks:

Just a quick note about a potential performance improvement.

I recently upgraded one of my machines to the 64 bit version of Ubuntu
9.10. Previously I had been running that machine (and all of my other
machines) with 32 bit linux. After installing phraymd from my PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~damien-moore/+archive/ppa) and starting the
time consuming rescan of my collection, I noticed that the phraymd
user interface was very non-responsive, especially during the
verification stage. I don't know if this is the normal experience for
someone running phraymd on 64 bit linux, but I was appalled.

As it turns out the fix was pretty simple -- I just had to insert some
idle time into the worker thread to ensure the user interface gets
enough processor time. I committed that change to lp:phraymd and the
PPA last night.

If you are using phraymd and have any performance issues, please let
me know. the phraymd ui should be responsive at all times and if it's
not it's a bug.

thanks
dm
