Another option if it is for home use. freeze with Deep Freeze the unit c and cut the files from C: \ Users \ User to the unit D: then if you install programs or another plugin for windows it will return to previous state. I hope to have explained.
If you're looking for a safe way to protect the files, filesystem and general integrity of your system, then Deep Freeze Standard is certainly a product to look at.With this application, you can effectively "freeze" the setup of your computer which can be useful in many different cases including a virus infection, email worm or anything else that messes with your system.Deep Freeze Standard will completely restore the drives you have directed it to protect upon restarting a system. This means that if any type of virus manages to make its way into your operating system, Deep Freeze will completely revert these changes. In essence, it will "Freeze" the selected hard drive so that no malicious changes can be made.Setting up this program involves creating a master password so that you, and only you, can decide when to activate and deactivate the freezing of a drive. It gets a little bit more complicated when attempting to uninstall as first it must be deactivated with the hotkeys CTRL ALT SHIFT F6; You must de-thaw the drives in question, reboot and then run the original executable to uninstall it.All in all, the usage and setup of this program could be a little bit more user friendly but we're guessing that would make it easier to defeat. Definitely read the instructions from Faronics if anything goes wrong.Features of Deep Freeze Standard
Wow, that's a bummer about the support. I used a trial in the past, but noticed it was not compatible with Win10 for a while. Then they updated to 8.30, which was compatible for a short time, then the Win10 creators update happened and it lost all compatibility (BSOD randomly happening due to a key component in Faronics). The crashed happened even while thawed. Supposedly version 8.37 (current) fixes everything. Would support include downloading updates that might be released within that year of time? And if out of that time frame, I'd have to pay for a new version?
I probably don't need support from their people regarding the use of the program. I've only ever needed it for the reason below:
I use a plotter program that creates a permanent settings file (even after a format/reinstall, it's still recognized, only DBAN has ever killed it) My machine has HPGL/GPGL built in, but the program overrides the machine so that it can only use 1 of these settings. If I visit :1130 I can see the status, but there's no way to change any of the settings. Deep Freeze has helped me with this issue. I freeze the PC, install my program and choose 1 of the 2 settings, and use it as normal. I reboot, the program is uninstalled and so is that annoying settings file. If I have to use the other setting, I'll be free to do so with a simple reinstall after a reboot.
If Reboot Restore can help me with this issue as a free alternative, I might be interested
It is a MAIN standard that Deep Freeze is on every public computer. Its main function is to prevent patrons from changing important settings and configurations on the PCs, and it also wipes all patron data upon reboot.
i am working with services using C#, and for some stuff i need to get deepfreeze state of the station (frozen or thawed), for this found this on Faronic's documentation , when i use the following command in command prompt : C:\WINDOWS\syswow64\DFC.exe get /ISFROZEN it works and returns "THAWED." or "FROZEN." so i decided in my C# program to run a command prompt and redirect the Standard output to get the result of the command into a string variable , but it has not worked, i tried with any other commands and it works , i do not understand where is the problem.there is the DFC.exe download link if it does not exists ( complete the captcha and click to download)It is my third day on it so i need help .. thank's for everyone , there is sample code :
We set out to determine whether prolonged freezing of samples of cerebral tissue would alter specific gravity measurements. Our goal was to devise a method to prevent tissue water evaporation during transportation and storage of human cerebral samples in order to allow accurate measurements of specific gravity and water content at a delayed time. Control cerebral samples from healthy and water-intoxicated anaesthetized adult mice were immediately immersed in a gravimetric column for fresh specific gravity measurements. Cerebral samples from the same animals were also preserved by rapid freezing in liquid nitrogen, followed by deep-freeze storage at -80 degrees C for up to 7 days. The mean specific gravity and standard error of 65 non-oedematous and 18 oedematous fresh cerebral samples was 1,0483 +/- 2 x 10(-4) and 1,0433 +/- 5 x 10(-4), respectively. Freezing for 1 h to 7 days resulted in no significant alteration of specific gravity for 109 non-oedematous and 27 oedematous samples (P greater than 0.05). We describe a rapid freezing technique that is practical for transportation and storage of experimental or surgical cerebral specimens. Our findings indicate that storage of cerebral samples in liquid nitrogen, with or without subsequent deep-freezing, preserves water content of normal and oedematous cerebral tissue, thereby allowing accurate measurements at a later time.
