Hello,

Thank you for the amazing recent updates. I was very excited because I have been using both HUMAnN3 and PICRUSt2. However, I have one question.

I understand that the mapfile has been updated using the latest version of the HUMAnN3 files:
  • ec_level4_to_metacyc_rxn.tsv → ec_level4_to_metacyc_rxn_new.tsv
  • metacyc_path2rxn_struc_filt_pro.txt → metacyc_pathways_structured_filtered_v24_subreactions.txt
However, I noticed that the second file, which includes 'subreactions,' appears to be from the DEMO files of HUMAnN3. Is there a specific reason why metacyc_pathways_structured_filtered_v24 was not used instead of the DEMO version?

And, Can i use 'metacyc_pathways_structured_filtered_v24' instead of 'metacyc_pathways_structured_filtered_v24_subreactions' for PICRUSt2 mapfile?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for noticing this and pointing it out. I've now replaced the files in the PICRUSt2 repository - I'll probably be pushing some other changes soon as I work to make the new database/version compatible with QIIME2, so I'll create a new release at that point. So for now, yes, you can use metacyc_pathways_structured_filtered_v24 instead, and installing PICRUSt2 directly from Github would have these files by default, too.

Thanks again,
Robyn
