Emailing the pgn file after a game

Hi all,

Is anyone else experiencing problems getting the email from Picochess when a game is finished?

I have third-party apps access turned on and everything worked well before my Operation, but I’ve only just set-up the board again and I’m getting security issues. 

Has anyone else had this problem and maybe found a way round this so we can still get emailed games?

Hi Al,

Are you using a gmail account? If yes the problem might be Google's  two way authentication. In the google account you can link a special password for gmail to any device. That did the trick for me.

Yes. As Henri mentioned, you'll need to generate an app password and use that as your email password inside picochess.ini.

I had briefly looked at 2 way authentication, but thought I wouldn’t need it, but I do

Hello,
I just discovered this thread and remembered that I still have the email problem. I still do not receive an email from PicoChess after finishing a game. I have a GMX email address and have not been able to find a solution to my problem. I had described the problem elsewhere, unfortunately without a solution. Does anyone have a solution for me?

Hi Billy,

I can't find your previous post but have you looked at the picochess.log in the /opt/picochess/logs folder? You can adjust the log level in the picochess.ini file.
