I can't figure out how to create and edit the picochess.ini file.

I have followed this instruction I found in these forums:  If you haven't got a picochess.ini file yet, you need to create one first. The easiest way is to use the example file like this: sudo cp picochess.ini.example picochess.ini

I get a message "No such file or directory"

What am I missing?

Type “pwd”  ( Path Working Directory )to see the which directory you are in - you must be in the same directory as the “Picochess.ini.example” file is located.

Hi,

Yes the picochess.ini.example file is in directory /opt/picochess

So if you enter the following commands you can create a picochess.ini file:

cd /opt/picochess
sudo cp picochess.ini.example picochess.ini

You can then edit the picochess.ini file turning on any options you want, see the first few lines within picochess.ini for an explanation.

If you are using a DGT Pi, it builds a picochess.ini file as you select options through the menus.
