One of my „heroes“ of the science world is Stephen Hawking. I have read his first popular scientific book „A Brief History of Time“ in one go when it came out and this book and his later theories had a big impact on me.
Anyway: I have always wanted to include a Stephen Hawking voice to Picochess because of the unique sound of his speech synthesizer.
The DECtalk synthesizer was state of the art when it came out and although there were better synthesized voices in later times he never changed it:
“I keep it because I have not heard a voice I like better and because I have identified with it,” Hawking said in 2006.
But I wanted to have additional voice comments and never had an idea what would work best.
That’s why I asked the AI „ChatGPT“ for help and entered some prompts like „Imagine Stephen hawking would comment a chess game. What would he say?
I took the generated written comments and put it into a simulation of the DECtalk speech synthesizer.
This is what I got for example (sound file attached):
„I have studied black holes but I am also a master at creating them on the chess board“
;-)
You can download my hawking voice (with game comments) here:

Just put it into the /talker/voices/en folder and add a corresponding voices.ini entry
[[hawking]]
small = Hawking
medium = Hawking
large = Hawking
and choose this voice as „Pico Voice“ and enjoy Stephen Hawking commenting your game ;-)

By the way this drawing has been created by the AI „Stable Diffusion“ which can generate pictures and photos based on text inputs.
