Hi, I have been getting all of the updates to picochess and running them on my original DGT Pi.  It is a little hard trying to navigate the engines and settings.  I always see that there is a desktop version.  Will this install and run on windows 11?  If so I would like to try in on my laptop and stop using the original DGT pi.  thanks

Hi

The desktop image is for any Raspberry Pi where you attach a screen. Like a Pi3, Pi4 or Pi5
You can attach a screen, keyboard and mouse to the DGT pi, and you should then be able to use the desktop image.

Johan

PS I have made a beta version of picochess, picochess 4. It can be installed on any Debian computer, but not yet on Windows. I have tested two ways: 1) Debian dual boot, or 2) I use Oracle Virtualbox which allows you to have a Debian running in Windows. Maybe its possible to install Raspbian in Virtualbox? I have not tried. If you want to test the 4 beta you can find instructions in https://github.com/JohanSjoblom/picochess

I have to add that using a desktop image still gives you the same menu buttons as on the DGT pi, but you do have a mouse to use!
An easy way to test is to find out the ip address of yor DGT pi and then type that address into your mobile phone

Thanks so much for answering.  I guess I will just stick with what I have been using.
