picochess-image with 3.5 inch touch display support

is there an image with support for the display above?

Or how can I add the drivers to the existing image for my raspi 3?

Hi,

depends what display y mean...I have a KUMAN one, and you have to install the drivers yrsf, or use their image, and put picochess on it (see "Manual installation @docu).
Both ways, y need to do something...whereas speaking for KUMAN, using their image as starting point, i find easier :-)

Finally I used in the package the "LCD35-show"-command. Now I want to start the x-server (xstart), but it doesn't work...

I get no error. Only I can't start the graphical gui -> maybe KDE or something like that. I think, it's necessary to start the webgui on the display...

I found an working Image for my Kumon 3.5 Inch touch display. But my problem now is, that the virtual resolution is too high. I can't scroll down in a window (esp. Firefox or Chrome). What for an image did you use (download link)?

I got my image (for the KUMAN 3,5)  from (i think!!) their webpage:

Before i used the one from their CD. Both working.


I dont think, i can be of alot of help to get your X-Problems solved. It worked, and i was happy - cause calling this LCD-xxx driver stuff,
like said on docu leads to an error (Speicherauszug geschrieben)...so, i wasnt successful to get Kuman to work with a standard Linux.
=> leads to my former suggestion to start with their image ;-)

Also i dont use it right now --- Its waiting for free time (relax - not develop).

Perhaps PeterO can help (since he also has such KUMAN).

I get the following error during manual installation process:

1) Failed cleaning build dir for cryptography

2) Command "/usr/bin/python3 -u -c "import setuptools, tokenize;__file__='/tmp/pip-build-3gelisf5/cffi/setup.py';f=getattr(tokenize, 'open', open)(__file__);code=f.read().replace('\r\n', '\n');f.close();exec(compile(code, __file__, 'exec'))" install --record /tmp/pip-t8x8m6x5-record/install-record.txt --single-version-externally-managed --compile" failed with error code 1 in /tmp/pip-build-3gelisf5/cffi/

The older image of both is working now. But had troubles with install of picochess (see above).

I fixed the error with:

sudo apt-get install build-essential libssl-dev libffi-dev python-dev

Everything works fine includig the Kumon display...

this "cryptography" needs abit more care/packages ...like a libssl-dev and so on (see also other thread)
I hope, we get a prepared picochess image soon.
