Hello all,
I've been reading along here for quite a while and would like to thank everyone for the really great work.
I use a DGT 3000 PI with a USB board. Everything works very well.
Although I have really searched a lot to answer my questions, unfortunately there are still 2 unanswered questions.
1) I have set the tones to NEVER and the language to de:christina - unfortunately 2 tones are played before and after each announcement. Is it possible to switch this off?
2) If you surf on the DGT PI, the trains are also announced, unfortunately only in English. Can this be changed to e.g. German?

Thanks again for the great work

Horst

Hi Horst,

I think the translation isn't very good. Can you ask your question in German and maybe I can get a better translation, or a German speaking member can assist? And, what version of PicoChess are you using? Also, if you are able, look at /opt/picochess/picochess.ini. You can adjust all the settings directly in there.

Thanks.

Hello Randy,
thanks for your efforts to understand me ;-)

next TRY

I use Picochess 3.0.
Two things I could not solve myself.
1. there are two beeps before and after each move announcement. (Speaker connected directly to the DGT PI)
2. is it possible to change the web page announcements to German? (Webpage of my DGT PI)

Best regards

Horst

Ok. Thanks. That makes more sense.

I don't think I have ever heard two beeps coming from the DGTPi speaker before and after each move announcement. There is a menu option in System/Sound (or, if you set up the DGTPi to German - System/Toene) which you can set to 'None' ('Nie') and that will prevent all beeps from sounding (except the one when Picochess starts - which you can disable in the dgtpi.service) but it only give one beep when the engine moves, at least for me. If you set the option to 'Sometimes' ('Manchmol'), there is a setting in picochess.ini (beep-some-level) which determines when beeps occur.

As for the language in the browser, if using Safari I believe it has to be English. But, otherwise it should use the default computer language (but I never tested it myself). Perhaps someone else knows this answer.

Hi all,

You do get a couple of beeps before moves on some of the MAME engines, these can be turned off by adding

-sound none

In the main code, like academy for example.

Cheers,

Al.
