How to receive data from serial to USB converter at USB port in android Gingerbread OS?

Is any drivers required for this?

How to receive data from serial to USB converter at USB port in android Gingerbread OS?

I have created app for reading data through Serial port.

In this I get ttyS0, ttyS1 port to read data.

But now, I want to read data using USB port.

I didn't get any port like ttyUSB0.

Is any drivers required for this?

I am receiving signal from an embedded device.
