non-root user permissions

Hi,

I'm using Angstrom (console version) on the picosam. I added a non-root user with adduser, but it seems that this non-root user has not enough permission, like for instance for:

  - svn checkout from https://
  - socket connect
 - etc.

In my laptop with Fedora a non-root user has these permissions by default.

Is there something I should do to allow these accesses to the non-root user in angstrom/picosam?
