Why are some of my jobs queued?

I did:

cloud.map (...)

to setup 12 jobs.  But only 6 are running, and 6 are queued.  I was expecting to be able to run far more in parallel.  Why are they not running?

We do not guarantee the number of cores that will be available for your computation when you enqueue jobs. If our system determines that you've given us significant computation, we will automatically begin bringing up more worker nodes. In other words, the more compute hours worth of jobs you enqueue, the more cores you'll be using.

If you want a guaranteed minimum level of parallelism, try using our Realtime Cores feature, which will allow you to allocate cores by the hour.
