Is there a git repository (on github or elsewhere) for the Python
codebase (cloud)?

There is no git repository, but our latest source code for the client is always available on our site or pypi.
Any reason you'd like us to have one?

Yes, it would provide an easy way of seeing differences between
versions and patches (e.g. in the git log), as well as an easy upgrade
path for those of us unable to use the cheeseshop (pypi), for lack of
easy_install support or other restrictions. Finally, it's probably in
your best interest since it provides a way for users to contribute
back improvements/refinements/actual features rather than just feature
requests.

Cheers,
Ido
