Barring disaster, I'll be there from Wednesday.

Most, anyway. I'm getting on a plane tomorrow morning, and will be at
Masters Wednesday morning.
I'm actually going from the airport to the Masters hotel tomorrow, but just
to pick up the rental car. Then it's off to the desert to find a spot to
plunk my tent for the night, and back to Masters Wednesday morning. Yes,
the extra time with the rental car was still cheaper than a extra night at
the hotel, and more fun anyway. This year the rental car pricing structure
made it much cheaper to not rent the car at the airport.
So who else is going?
If anyone can find me, I've got a small pile of trinkets to give away, and a
few demo units I'll give away during Saturday lunch instead of bringing them
back with me on the airplane.

They're afraid your photo could hurt the eyes of protected witnesses?

Here are a few pictures:
Still haven't hooked up with the other three PICListers. Tony, Edson,
Spehro -- where are you? :)
>From what I can tell, fewer people are attending this year. At the Keynote
Address, there were many empty seats. Steve Sanghi's speech was punctuated
by humor. He said that he was going to break with tradition and not show the
sales graphs and figures for this year ("because they are down"), expressed
surprise at the fact that there are many types of DC motors, and asked the
audience "how many software engineers does it take to change a light bulb?"
In other news, Microchip discontinued its free samples program due to its
abuse, although regular customers and MASTERs attendees can still get them
for free. XLP is the new ultra-low-power technology from Microchip and,
according to Sanghi, can be used as a verb. "To XLP something" means to
greatly reduce its power consumption.

I've been around, but couldn't distinguish your blue shirt. What
are you wearing today? That doesn't sound right, but really, what are
you wearing? Or even better, what's your class schedule? I'm in DSP1
and 2 classes all day today.
Tony
That's right, you weirdo! >:-D
FWIW, I bumped into Olin four times already, but that may be because he's so
tall and conspicuous.

I've been wearing the same blue polo on Wednesday and Thursday. There really
aren't that many blue shirts at this conference. ;-)
Tomorrow (Fri) I'll be wearing light slacks and a blue polo shirt.

Sorry, I couldn't check my email earlier today.
Fri:
~7 breakfast, then:
1326
1309
lunch
1329
1329
Sat:
breakfast
1376
1376
What about the others? Spehro, Edson?
While my teammates were having a dinner with a Microchip Executive, I had a
nice discussion with a software developer. When he was getting ready to
leave, I asked him for a business card. It said:
Cedric Chang
Principal Engineer

PS You can text me at 6022843528 (minus the roanoke start year).
PPS Cedric told me he's not the Cedric Chang I thought he was. :-S
>I'm in DSP1 and 2 classes all day today.
I've been in that two classes yesterday also. I was the guy on the
first row, with a yellow polo t-shirt.
Maybe we should arrange a meeting?
What about at 12:30 on the lunch room? I'm with a dark green t-shirt
with long sleeves.
I'll also be at the lunch room at about 19:00. I'll try to sit close to
the main room entrance so it would be easy to someone to see me.
It seens there are 7 PicList guys attending the conference:
Vitality
Tony Vandiver
Spehro Pefhany
Marcel Duchamp
Clint Sharp
Edson Brusque
Olin Lathrop
Best regards,
Brusque

Now, the only thing missing is a group photo... :-)
Doesn't everyone walk around with a digital camera these days ?
Jan-Erik.
Heck, considering almost every cell phone has a camera many people
probably walk around with 2 all day... :) I know at times my car has
about 5 digital cameras in it at a time...

I've got a D 300 with me, but the only one I've run across was
Olin at the DP lunch.
Definitivitively! Tomorrow's our last chance to have a decent conversation,
and take a group picture. Here's my cell, now in OPEN TEXT: 602 284-1527.
Please remember that I don't check my email at the conference, so text or
call.
Sorry I had to run off so quickly, the guy who is carpooling with me had
been waiting for me for over two hours while I was having "dinner with a
Microchip Executive". Here's a picture of you and Tony:

By the way, the guy who was sitting next to me is a president of the company
who made Stephen Hawking's talking machine. It's amazing how many
interesting people I got to meet at this year's conference. Richard Simoncic
(Microchip's VP or Analog & Interface division) is a great, down-to-earth
guy too.
