Hello,

I'm working on a design that will need two (for daisy chaining
devices) 100Mbps ethernet ports.

The Micrel KSZ8842-16 seens to be the perfect solution. Not very
expensive, two ports, can interface with microcontrollers.

Now, it would take months to get it right. I've done designs using
the RTL8019AS, so I "know Ethernet", but...

If there's anyone who have worked with it, preferably interfacing
it with PIC's or dsPIC's, I would like to have a chat. Maybe I could
hire someone to do the communication work while I do other things.

Best regards,

Brusque

Edson,

My company is designing a product with a similar Micrel part. It uses
SPI for configuration. There are eval kits available that might be
helpful:

Unfortunately I am not working on that part of the project so I don't
have any more detailed knowledge for you.

Wow, nice part! I can see all sorts of fun applications for this one.

Would be interesting to find out if the wire-analysis that's built in
could provide simple time domain functions to measure wire length and
such...
