I've been using Eagle for about 9 years. I've made a lot of things
with it and it does works very well. Well, it does have some limitations
and I'm looking for something different to try out.
AutoTraxEDA (www.autotraxeda.com) is just $295 right now. I've
downloaded the demo and I'm trying to learn it. It's very different from
Eagle, crashes a little but looks interesting.
Tried to find some opinions/experiences on Piclist's archives but
haven't found anything.
Someone here knows it? Want to share your thoughts?
Best regards,
Brusque

Disclosure: I'm a moderator (bob_xyz) on the Yahoo group at:
http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/AutoTRAX/
==============================================
I've been using AutoTRAX for several years. I've done everything from
the most simple single-sided test boards through some fairly dense
multilayer boards. IMHO, it's a workable program which is still
undergoing active development.
The Yahoo group has around 2500 members and is very active. I'd
suggest joining it so that you can browse through the message
archives. Doing that should give you a pretty good idea as to the
state of the program.
Yes, there are some bugs in the program but, from what I've seen and
heard, crashes are rare. Restarting the program after a crash gives
you the option of opening a recovery file to minimize the work lost.
For the most part, workarounds are available for the bugs that have
been reported.
The program's developer contributes regularly to the Yahoo group and
is very open to suggestions for ways to improve the package. I've
actually seen a few bugs that got fixed in a matter of hours from
their being reported.
BTW, there's a public bug list at:
