A few days ago the RSS feed from Microchip listed 4 or 5 new PIC24 chips
with HW accelerated graphical interface. I didn't save datasheet at that
point and they are now gone from news and Microchip website completely.

Perhaps this was an (un)intended early news.

Does anyone has more info on these new chips?

They are listed in the 'Whats New' on the Microchip web page (see top
right menu on the front page) They are the PIC24FJxxxDAyyy series IIRC.
The relevant item is the 'DA' in the part number. They also come with
USB IIRC.

I looked there before but didn't find them. Problem was it is not listed
within "product news" as I would expect (see
http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=1950)
but actually in "recently released documentation" at
http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=102in
the datasheet section.

Here is the direct link to the datasheet for anyone interested:
http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/39969b.pdf

I assume Microchip will introduce these products a bit better in the near
future, including them on the "Graphics Application Design
Center<http://www.microchip.com/graphics>"
at least.

Thanks

If you download the latest application library zip file, the graphics
library part already mentions them in the readme.

Very cool!!

Yeah, and the bit that intrigues me is that for two items now, Microchip
have provided links to datasheets of related, but not their own
products, in 'Whats new'. One of these items is a 4.3 inch TFT colour
touchscreen, which I presume will appear in the microchip development
board for this chip.
