Just wondering if there are people in this list who use FreeBSD. It
seems to me FreeBSD is quite similar to Linux now.

FreeBSD has ports for gputils/sdcc/gpsim/picp/pikdev.

It is also possible to build Piklab under FreeBSD.

I am able to get PICkit 2 to work under FreeBSD with the help
from the FreeBSD Alternative USB Stack developer.

PS+ works under FreeBSD with picp.

Wisp628 works under FreeBSD with xwisp2.

JALv2 works under FreeBSD as well.

pikdev and Piklab should support many simple programmers (JDM and Tait type).
