January 20, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 8313 Varner Road about 3:10 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 19).
The suspect, Anderzon Giron (H/m, 32), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 339th State District Court. A booking photo of Giron is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the shooting of his brother, Hector Giron, 38, who was transported to an area hospital.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer G. Sanchez reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call to the residence at the above address and were told Mr. Hector Giron was shot in the abdomen and buttocks and had been transported to a hospital.
A witness stated the Giron brothers went to a restaurant and then to a bar where Anderzon (the suspect) became aggressive and belligerent. The witness stated they all left the location and the witness gave Hector Giron a ride home. Once they arrived to the residence, the witness observed the suspect come out of the home with a rifle in his hands and shoot the victim. The witness stated they were able to get the gun from the suspect, who was detained and subsequently charged in the incident.
