Ihave made the user select an EPUB file so far, but am now looking for a library to open the file and read contents. I have looked at several libraries on NuGet (VersFx, EpubSharp, Epubreader.cross, epubreader) without any luck.

On my Android devices I use Aldiko and Moon Reader Pro, depending on my mood.On Windows, however, I am still stuck with FBReader and the reader bundled with Calibre, and I don't like very much both of them. (Adobe Digital Edition is a heavy program). I would prefer a standalone program which runs on Windows 7 too, and I don't like browser extension since my browsers already use a lot of RAM. Any suggestions?

Meet Icecream Ebook Reader, one of the best free EPUB readers that transforms your computer screen into a convenient top-notch ebook reader. The tool enables you read ebooks in EPUB, MOBI, FB2, PDF and other popular formats. Manage your digital library on your PC or Windows-based laptop. This program also features the ability to turn pages, use bookmarks, search your library, track reading progress and much more.

You could try Sumatra PDF; despite the name, this program can read various document formats, including ebooks (.epub and .mobi) and comic books (.cbz and .cbr). It's free and open source, and its main features are being a lightweight and portable program; I've tried it a couple of times, and I found it a bit too minimalistic (maybe this is a plus for you), but if you need a program that won't drain your system resources you should definitely give it a try.

Besides that, and not counting other obvious alternatives like Kindle and Kobo readers for PC, I don't have many other suggestions; I'm mainly a Linux user, and I'm fine with Calibre internal reader, so I've never really bothered to look for other things.

You could try to look for something else on alternativeto.net (here and here), but honestly, there seems to be very few ebook readers for PC, if compared with their portable devices counterparts: people mostly like to read ebooks on ereaders or tablets, so I think that developers have less incentive to work on software that runs on a PC.

EPUB File Reader is a free EPUB files viewer, can help you to open and read ePub e-books and documents. The software interface consists of two parts, the left will show document chapter directory, the right is a browser to show document content. This software is easy to use very much, it is a freeware and completely free to use.

Customize your reading experience to view books with different fonts, line spacing and themes, turn pages with the flick of a finger or jump to any page. The app even comes loaded with free book samples. And so you never lose your place, the NOOK app syncs the last page you've read across your tablet and PC.

I've created a presentation with animation and video content that works super well on ibooks but there isn't an equivalent for the PC. How can I run this on a PC. Is there a way of running the online version locally or is there a PC ebook reader that works properly.

I tried everything, including Readium. I must have downloaded about 20. Lets Face it EPUB3 is a dead end for creating interactive content from indesign. I'm really stuck now with a client that loves what we have done on the design for ibooks and ipad but it will never work on the PC.

My only hope is to download the web version page by page as an archive and then use a programmer to make the HTML and Javascript into a self-running application. It seems to be a long way round to get something relatively simple working. Or am I just not using the right software? Is Adobe not capable of this?

"Unfortunately, Google recently changed the security settings for Chrome apps. The result is that the way that InDesign (and most developers) code interactivity are now cause exceptions to be thrown and the interactive code is not executed. We are trying to find a workaround, but it is not clear that is one. We are also consulting with the folks at Google and Chrome as well, but they are not optimistic."

Any other ePub reader suggestions for windows? I have a lot of clients that were depending on readium to view on windows. ADE gives me a ton of font issues even though I'm using standard opentype fonts (like calibri) which should render fine across mac or PC.

I'm having no luck at all getting interactive pages to work on any reader. I've tried both HTML5 + JavaScript as well as SVG interactive pages, and though these work perfectly fine in browsers on both Windows and Android, any given epub reader will either render interactive pages as blank, will throw an error, will display non-SVG elements only, or will pretend the page doesn't exist at all. The only reader that will play ball whatsoever is an add-on for Firefox (epub-catalog)!

If you could further define what you mean by "interactive" there might be some options to help, however most likely what you are trying to achieve using EPUB2 is just not possible and it might be a simple matter of waiting until support for EPUB3 becomes wide spread.

I purchased White Dwarf 458 digitally (for solo rules as covid increases here) but I can't find a reader app for windows 10 that will read their epub3 fixed layout format properly. If it does read its tiny and I can't zoom in, but more often then not it just is all garbled.

I heard back from GW, but they are being not very helpful. I will attempt more software but even the ones they recommend for windows 10 do not allow the epub3 file to be zoomed so its super small and hard to read.

My painstakingly solution was to screenshot every page on my surface pro and then make my own pdf of the rules that I would use for a game (my paper battletome was a month delayed, so this was my only way to get the rules).

I think "thorium reader" worked pretty decently. It wasn't great for a touch tablet though, but will work fine on a laptop or computer since you probably are used to pressing buttons instead of gestures.

Thats GW's normal response they don't usually do anything until a sizeable number of people tell them they need to make changes. Thus we the community need to be after them for making changes and tell them what we want. Importantly to tell them to change their dated systems for community feedback and growth. Its our responsibility and our future if we want warhammer to last.

Until recently, I only used an Android tablet with Google Play Books to read my Adeptus Titanicus and Necromunda EPUBs. However, after buying the new Necromunda Core Rule Book I ran into some unexpected problem: There's a file size limit of 100MB that cannot be circumevented...the Core Rule Book got 139MB (so far, most of the books were around 75). So I had to look for an alternative. The best one turned out to be Colibrio. "Reasily" displays the ebooks correctly as well but is less comfortable when it comes to navigating pages. Two other apps did a pretty well job but still butchered some headings. Hende I'm not naming them and actually already forgot which they were ;-).

After that I checked whether there might be a PC version of Colibrio available. There kind of is. Atm it's only a demo (Vanilla Reader) that's running in the browser. But it got the same functionality as the Colibrio Android app. ( )
