Hi

I have a board I need to program with PK2CMD. The problem is, it will
not. The microcontroller is a PIC16F677, and is detected by PK2CMD:

Z:\>f:\gonogo\pk2cmd -BF:\gonogo\ -P -FF:\gonogo\test.hex -w
Auto-Detect: Found part PIC16F677.

VPP Error detected. Check target for proper connectivity.

The PIC can be programmed by the PICkit 2 programmer, although it will
occasionally tell me there is a VPP error. When I try again it will
succede.

I have hooked a scope to the vpp pin, and attached the results (PK2CMD
error.doc)

I am using Vista Buisness SP1

How can I solve this?

The Vpp error might be the cause. What is the circuit of your board,
especially around the MCLR pin?

Hi

Verify the Vpp calibration.
pickit2 generates VPP voltage from USB 5V.
The converter needs to be calibrated because of unaccurate 5V voltage and
pickit2 component dispersion.

The calibration functionnality is included into
the pickit 2 tool v2.6 provided by Microchip.

It has worked for me

Hi

I was on a deadline, so I decided to order a new one. In hindsight the
fact that it would programm in some cases was quite remarkable, since
the vpp got a full blast of 230V... The new one works like a charm.

Thanks for the trouble, although I should not have posted it here.
This is not a support group for the pickit2, but a support group for
the open sourceness of the pickit 2. Sorry about that.
