I liked Picasa because you could use it offline and didn’t have to upload to the cloud. As a result you can keep it private. With Google photos you are handing them a lot of information that you might want to keep private (and with hackers these days, you may be giving it to the hackers in addition to Google). It is amazing what can be deciphered from the photos. All the people can be recognized and correlated with their names on various other services (your and their Google account, maybe Facebook, etc.). It has the date and location so someone knows who you were with, where and when. Creepy.
Does anyone know of a program for facial recognition that resides on your computer and not on the web?
