Hello,
For several years I am using Picasastarter with the DB and the pictures stored on my NAS . I could reach the pictures both from my laptop as well as from my desktop, of course not at the same time.
For some reason it does no langer work well from my desktop. If I like to import pictures from a map the pictures are no longer stored to the NAS but are saved to Pictures on my local disk D: .
I cann’t find the reason why, So I decided to remove Picasastarter from my desktop computer and to re-install it, but it didn’t help at all.
Can somebody tell me whats going wrong?
Regards
Gijs

Hi Gijs:
It has been a very long time since I wrote the user manual on the PicasaStarter site, but it does have a section about Network Drives that might be of some help.
- Are you sure you are mapping the network drive correctly?
- Both PCs need to be using the same database path of course, but you have been doing that for a while and there is no reason that should change.
- In the database configuration editor the configuration file should have the virtual drive path set to disabled or set to a path open on both PCs.

I will try to remember some more about PS. I still use it, but not on a nas.
Have you changed anything like different NAS or added drives, or did you make C: drive an SSD and map picture paths to drive D?

Hi Earl,

Thnx for your answer. I checked it over and over again but I couldn't find any difference between the configuration on my laptop and my desktop.
At the end I decided to have a look in Picasa and there I found the solution. Under Options I saw the location where the imported pictures should go was pointing to the local disk and not to my NAS.
Maybe it was caused by the fact that I had everthing re-installed on my new disk, since the opld one crashed. Most of the time I did import pictures from my laptop.

So I am a happy user again
regards

Gijs
