Caption placement

I type explanatory text beneath my photos but in slideshow mode this text appears detrimentally in a box on the image and I want the text to remain beneath the photo where I put it.  Can anyone help please?

By the way thanks to the guys whose advice helped me reinstall Picasa via Hippofile after my laptop was repaired.

Im afraid thats how it works and i cant think of any alternate way of doing what you want. If you want text associated with the photo but dont want it to show at  all you could add a tag.
