We Want Sex
Yesterday, in the wake of the beautiful day and feminist women 's other times we were protagonists ( http://margherita-nulladipreciso.blogspot.com/2011/02/se-non-ora-quando.html ), immediately after the event I went to see a small cinema in nicely old-fashioned, the kind that smell of powder and velvet, which give the little-known film or delay of several months, a beautiful film, I will not forget easily: We Want Sex (Nigel Cole, 2010), a hymn to the intelligence and the history of women made by women.
The story, very true, is that the workers of the Ford plant in Dagenham, Essex, England, in 1968 strike for equal pay than men.
incited and animated by the combative Rita O'Grady, these brave and self-mocking women, involved in the stitching of the seats of cars, take to the streets to protest and seek an improvement of their working conditions and equal, only 187 (while the men workers 55 thousand employees in the factory are yet !!!!), united and in solidarity, can crash the hard machismo and Ford factories in general and to an important piece of history. Their request was in fact soon to become the law on equal pay which remains strong today in factories around the world.
I was speechless and I was smitten to the emotion, because it was a spectacular affair that did not know and I've found a perfect day, one day everything pink!
We Want Sex (implying "equality", published in Italy in style porn-easy appeal, while the original title is Made in Dagenham ) film is a small and little known but brilliant, that the Board of see who needs of relief from the current situation with courage and Italian women, who want to believe that it is possible to change things, who needs to remember that great things and great women have done so much, who wants to breathe a bit ' English sessantottino charming air of complete with big hair and colorful dresses in preppy style.
