Full screen slide show on IPAD

Is there any possibility to get into the full screen mode on an IPAD when running a slide show. It seems like the photos are sized exactly after available space when the toolbar etc are visible. And thus it is not possible to swipe down to get into the full screen mode (that I can do for normal web pages).

I have tried both chrome and firefox on an IPAD running IOS 9.

Just create a link to the homescreen. Then it's full screen
