Customer had taped note letters onto the keys with clear Scotch tape. Now those letters have worn off, leaving holes the tape and lots of sticky residue from the tape on the keys. Today's question: How to remove sticky residue?

If it weren't a piano I'd pull out the WD40. But it IS a piano.

Here is a no fail recipe for removing such items.  Lightly coat the keytop with cooking oil.  Any cooking oil.  Leave overnight.  The next day they will wipe off.
Our teen son covered his nice wooden bed headboard with decals, and this Heloise method did the trick.

Try Protek on a rag. Works for removal of gummy residue.

Protek's too expensive to use for this application!

Why does it take a "product" at all? What's wrong with VM&P naphtha,
mineral spirits, or denatured alcohol? There are a number of heavy
solvents that won't hurt the key top or leave oil in the wood. Maybe a
bit of that vodka you use to shrink action centers.

Vodka, of course. I must start carrying a pint flask of that in my tool case. At all times. For medicinal purposes only, of course.
