I've got a client who has a Yamaha G1 grand that needs to have the casters replaced.  The original casters were destroyed thanks to mans best friend.  The issue I'm having is removing the sockets out from the legs.  I tried prying on it with a flat bladed screw driver but it's going to take more than that.

Hi, Regi !
Yamaha Wheel Sockets are secured with 4 #10 screws each..
I had done it many times:
Each leg will have to be removed individually, sockets removed and
then replaced, secured with the screws x3..
Small pedestal or, in my case, collapsing stool, and a Car Jack work
the best...
Good Luck

I'm having problems removing the sockets out from the legs even with the screws removed.  The sockets are very rusty as well and that may be what's preventing them from coming out.

Hi, Regi !
I would suggest to:
Lay a Quilted Blanket on the floor:
 1] Turn the Leg up-side-down
2]  Put a glove on your hand and grab the Brass caster
3] With Rubber Mallet Tap the pedestal twice on each side, repeatedly a few times  and the socket shout start coming out...

Good luck !
Hope,it helps..
When you will be re-installing the Caster, pre-lubricate the socket walls ,  with a finger touch of  VJ lubricant.

Regi,

If the caster cups are really rusted into the wood, try putting a
propane torch flame down the socket until the wood starts to smoke a
LITTLE.Then try tapping the cup with a pin punch around in a circle
using the screw holes to set the punch in. Lots of light taps will
probably loosen the cups.
